Tu Yaa Main Struggles at Box Office on Day 1

Tu Yaa Main had a slow start at the Indian box office on its opening day. The survival thriller starring Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav, and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, earned around ₹55–57 lakh nett on Friday, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.com. With 1,239 shows and an average occupancy of just 6%, the film failed to cross the ₹1 crore mark.

Despite the weak opening, Tu Yaa Main managed to outperform the lead actors’ previous releases. Shanaya Kapoor’s 2025 romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan collected about ₹30 lakh on day one, while Adarsh Gourav’s Superboys of Malegaon earned roughly ₹50 lakh at its opening.

The film has received mixed-to-positive critical feedback, with praise for Adarsh Gourav’s performance and the film’s attempt at a gritty survival thriller. Whether word of mouth can boost its weekend numbers remains to be seen.

Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo earned Rs 8.25 crore on the first day

O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, released in theatres on Friday amid high expectations. Marking their fourth collaboration, the violent romantic drama also features Triptii Dimri and is set against Mumbai’s underworld. Despite strong pre-release buzz, the film recorded a modest opening, earning around ₹8.25 crore net on Day 1, according to Sacnilk, falling short of the double-digit mark.

The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.86 percent. While morning and afternoon shows remained low, night shows saw improvement, indicating gradual audience interest. Metro cities performed better, with Mumbai showing nearly 19 percent occupancy, suggesting urban traction.

Compared to Shahid Kapoor’s recent releases, O’Romeo has fared better than Deva and Jersey, but remains far behind his blockbuster Kabir Singh. With mixed reviews, the weekend performance will be crucial.

‘O Romeo’ Shines Before Release with ₹1.42 Crore Advance Booking

Shahid Kapoor and director Vishal Bharadwaj are back together with O’Romeo (O Romeo), and the excitement around their fourth collaboration is clearly visible. After Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon, fans are eager to see what the duo delivers this time. Despite early controversy linked to the film’s storyline, the teaser and Shahid’s intense tattooed look as ‘Ustara’ have received a positive response.

The advance booking for O’Romeo opened recently and the film has shown a decent start in pre-sales. According to early reports, the movie has sold over 19,000 tickets so far, collecting around ₹1.42 crore including blocked seats. With two days still left before release, trade experts expect numbers to rise further.

Featuring a powerful cast including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar and Vikrant Massey, O’Romeo is set to hit theatres on February 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 Earns ₹66 Crore in Two Days

Border 2 continues its impressive run at the box office, showing a sharp rise in collections on its second day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹36.7 crore on Saturday, taking its total domestic collection to nearly ₹66.7 crore. The war drama has clearly benefited from positive word of mouth and strong audience interest across key markets.

Starring Sunny Deol along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 41.58 percent on Day 2. Night shows proved to be the biggest crowd-puller, registering an occupancy of over 61 percent. Cities and states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai have shown especially encouraging response.

Trade experts are optimistic about the film’s extended weekend performance. With the Republic Day holiday adding momentum, Border 2 is expected to cross major milestones and potentially touch the ₹150 crore mark by Monday.
