Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo earned Rs 8.25 crore on the first day

O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, released in theatres on Friday amid high expectations. Marking their fourth collaboration, the violent romantic drama also features Triptii Dimri and is set against Mumbai’s underworld. The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.86 percent. While morning and afternoon shows remained low, night shows saw improvement, indicating gradual audience interest. Metro cities performed better, with Mumbai showing nearly 19 percent occupancy, suggesting urban traction.

Compared to Shahid Kapoor’s recent releases, O’Romeo has fared better than Deva and Jersey, but remains far behind his blockbuster Kabir Singh. With mixed reviews, the weekend performance will be crucial.

Shahid Kapoor has raised excitement for his upcoming film O’ Romeo by unveiling a new promo just a day before its theatrical release. The teaser, shared on Instagram, offers fresh glimpses of the film and has quickly caught fans’ attention. With heart and fire emojis flooding the comments, audiences are eagerly waiting to see Shahid in this new avatar alongside leading lady Triptii Dimri. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on February 13, 2026.

In his caption, Shahid wrote, “Kal pata chalega, kaun shendi laga raha tha. O’ROMEO. OUT TOMORROW,” adding to the intrigue. O’ Romeo is set to clash at the box office with Shanaya Kapoor’s Tu Yaa Main. According to reports, the film is also likely to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical window.

Inspired by true events, O’ Romeo explores unrequited love through Vishal Bhardwaj’s signature storytelling. The film features an ensemble cast including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, and a special appearance by Vikrant Massey.
