Kartik Aaryan’s Next Film Captain India

Kartik Aaryan is stepping into another ambitious phase of his career with Captain India, and the project has just received a major push. Leading music and film banner T-Series has officially joined the film as a producer, significantly strengthening its scale and visibility. The film is written and produced by Harman Baweja and directed by Shimit Amin.

According to industry sources, the recce has been completed and the film is set to go on floors in the second quarter of 2026, with shooting planned across India and Morocco. Notably, the film marks Amin’s return after 17 years, following acclaimed works like Ab Tak Chhappan, Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.

Meanwhile, Aaryan continues a strong box-office run after hits including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He is currently shooting Naagzilla, and also has projects lined up with Anurag Basu and Kabir Khan, keeping his 2026 slate packed and promising.

Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo earned Rs 8.25 crore on the first day

O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, released in theatres on Friday amid high expectations. Marking their fourth collaboration, the violent romantic drama also features Triptii Dimri and is set against Mumbai’s underworld. Despite strong pre-release buzz, the film recorded a modest opening, earning around ₹8.25 crore net on Day 1, according to Sacnilk, falling short of the double-digit mark.

The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.86 percent. While morning and afternoon shows remained low, night shows saw improvement, indicating gradual audience interest. Metro cities performed better, with Mumbai showing nearly 19 percent occupancy, suggesting urban traction.

Compared to Shahid Kapoor’s recent releases, O’Romeo has fared better than Deva and Jersey, but remains far behind his blockbuster Kabir Singh. With mixed reviews, the weekend performance will be crucial.
