Border 2 banned in Gulf countries including the UAE

Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan’s upcoming war film Border 2 is set to release in theatres on January 23, 2026. However, the film will not be screened in several Gulf countries. According to reports, the movie has been banned in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, leaving fans in these regions disappointed ahead of its release.

As per an industry source, films perceived to have “anti-Pakistan” content often face release issues in the Gulf belt. Despite efforts by the makers, Border 2 could not secure clearance in these countries. A similar ban was earlier imposed on Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which still went on to become a massive box-office success worldwide.

Meanwhile, Border 2 is witnessing strong advance bookings in India. The film has already sold around 60,000 tickets at major cinema chains. Apart from Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, the film also stars Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh.
