Former Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, estranged son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has announced financial assistance of ₹11 lakh for Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav. The announcement came after Rajpal Yadav surrendered and was sent to Delhi’s Tihar Jail in connection with a ₹9 crore debt and cheque bounce case. The legal trouble has brought renewed attention to the actor’s long-running financial struggles.

The case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav took a ₹5 crore loan to fund his directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. The film’s poor box office performance reportedly led to severe financial issues, eventually resulting in legal action. Before surrendering, the actor admitted that he saw no other option due to lack of funds.

Reacting to the situation, Tej Pratap Yadav said on X that he learned about the family’s suffering through a post and expressed solidarity. He stated that, on humanitarian grounds, the JJD family would provide ₹11 lakh as support.
