Jana Nayakan will not be released till April 30?

Fans of Vijay are once again left waiting as his much-awaited film Jana Nayagan faces another release hurdle. Canadian distributor York Cinemas has confirmed that the film will not hit theatres before April 30, pushing it further beyond its earlier schedule.

The update was shared through York Cinemas’ official social media handle, sparking confusion among fans. The film had earlier missed its planned January 9, 2026 release, which was timed around the Pongal festival. The distributor’s brief note did not announce a new date, but clearly stated that audiences should not expect the film anytime soon.

The delay is reportedly due to production setbacks and pending certification from the Central Board of Film Certification. Despite the disappointment, fans can revisit Vijay’s hit Theri, which is set for a theatrical re-release on February 20.

‘Dhurandhar’ becomes the longest trending Indian film

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, continues its unstoppable run even two months after release. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has crossed an impressive ₹1300 crore at the worldwide box office. With such massive success, fans are now eagerly waiting for Dhurandhar Part 2, which is expected to expand the film’s powerful storyline.

Adding another feather to its cap, Dhurandhar has become the longest-trending Indian film on BookMyShow. As per data shared by Sacnilk, the film trended for 59 days, breaking the earlier record of 58 days held by Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal. Stree 2 stands close behind with 57 days.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar also made headlines internationally after YouTuber Karl Rock revealed that pirated copies were being sold cheaply in Karachi, despite the film being banned in Pakistan.
