Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar’s Film Sees a Dip

Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s Republic Day release, Sky Force, has witnessed a drop in earnings on its first Tuesday. The film collected Rs 5.75 crore across all languages, bringing its total domestic box office earnings to Rs 75 crore.

Box Office Performance So Far:

  • Opening Day (January 24): Rs 12.25 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 22 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 28 crore
  • Monday: Rs 7 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 5.75 crore

The film had an overall 11.81% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday. While Sky Force showed strong numbers over the weekend, it experienced a significant drop on Monday and Tuesday.

Trade Analysis

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film performed well in urban multiplexes, though mass circuits did not fully benefit from the Republic Day holiday. Despite limited occupancy in the morning and afternoon, evening shows recorded better footfall on Monday.

About Sky Force

Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force stars Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya as IAF officers. The film depicts India’s first and deadliest airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, focusing on the retaliatory attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase. Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan are also part of the ensemble cast.

The film marks Veer Pahariya’s debut and signifies a much-needed double-digit opening for Akshay Kumar after a series of underwhelming box office performances.
