Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming feature film starring Diljit Dosanjh has officially received a new release date. Earlier slated to hit theatres during the Baisakhi festival in April, the untitled film will now release on June 12, 2026. The announcement was made by the makers on Thursday, creating fresh buzz among fans of the filmmaker and the actor-musician duo.

Described as a “charming story of love and longing,” the film marks Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh’s second collaboration after their widely appreciated 2024 Netflix release Amar Singh Chamkila. The new project also features Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari in key roles and promises a contemporary, witty narrative that explores deep human connections. The film went on floors in August 2025.

Calling the project close to his heart, Ali said the film has a large canvas yet remains deeply personal. The movie also reunites the celebrated trio of Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman, and Irshad Kamil, raising expectations for another memorable soundtrack.

Border 2 Crosses ₹200 Crore in Just 6 Days at Indian Box Office

Sunny Deol’s Border 2, released on Republic Day, continues to dominate the box office. On Wednesday, the film earned ₹13 crore, taking its total domestic collection to ₹213 crore. Within just six days, the action-packed sequel comfortably crossed the ₹200 crore mark, showing strong audience response.

The film opened with ₹30 crore on Friday and saw its highest single-day collection of ₹59 crore on Monday, Republic Day. With steady growth through the weekend, including a 49% jump on Sunday, Border 2 has already surpassed the opening weekend numbers of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film maintained full ticket rates on weekdays while performing exceptionally well in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

FIR Filed Against Ranveer Singh Over Alleged Religious Insult

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is facing legal trouble after an FIR was filed against him in Bengaluru for allegedly disrespecting the Chavundi Daiva tradition of coastal Karnataka. The complaint was lodged months after the incident, which occurred during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on November 28, 2025.

During the event, Ranveer reportedly mimicked a Daiva performance inspired by the film Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1. His act drew criticism on social media for allegedly mocking a sacred ritual.
