Border 2 Crosses ₹200 Crore in Just 6 Days at Indian Box Office

Sunny Deol’s Border 2, released on Republic Day, continues to dominate the box office. On Wednesday, the film earned ₹13 crore, taking its total domestic collection to ₹213 crore. Within just six days, the action-packed sequel comfortably crossed the ₹200 crore mark, showing strong audience response.

The film opened with ₹30 crore on Friday and saw its highest single-day collection of ₹59 crore on Monday, Republic Day. With steady growth through the weekend, including a 49% jump on Sunday, Border 2 has already surpassed the opening weekend numbers of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film maintained full ticket rates on weekdays while performing exceptionally well in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahaan Shetty. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta, it is the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 classic Border.

Border 2 Collects total to Rs. 215 crore

Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty’s Border 2 continues to dominate the box office in India. On its fifth day, the film has collected around Rs. 22 crore, pushing its total to Rs. 215 crore. Industry experts say the film is on track to cross Rs. 250 crore by the end of its first week, proving its massive appeal among audiences.

The film’s success has encouraged the makers to announce the third installment of the franchise. Single-screen theaters across mass belts are witnessing record-breaking occupancies, while multiplexes contribute around 45 percent of the collections through chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis.

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Border 2 has set a strong start for 2026. The film is now aiming for Rs. 300 crore in its second weekend, and eyes the Rs. 400–500 crore club in the coming weeks.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has stormed the Indian box office, becoming the first film of 2025 to cross ₹200 crore within its opening weekend. Directed by and starring Shetty himself, the film collected an impressive ₹223.25 crore in India during its four-day extended weekend, earning ₹61.85 crore on day one, ₹45.5 crore on day two, ₹55 crore on day three, and ₹61 crore on day four.

With this performance, Kantara Chapter 1 has surpassed major hits like Sankranti Ki Vastunam, Housefull 5, They Call Him OG, and Raid 2, entering the list of the year’s top 10 highest-grossing Indian films. Currently, only five films—Chhava, Saiyara, Coolie, Mahavatar Narasimha, and War 2—stand ahead of it in earnings.

Globally, the film has amassed around ₹325 crore, making it the sixth highest-grossing Indian film worldwide in 2025. Interestingly, the Hindi version has outperformed the original Kannada version, collecting ₹50.5 crore compared to ₹47.6 crore.

All eyes are now on whether Kantara Chapter 1 can overtake Chhava to become the biggest blockbuster of 2025.
