Border 2 continues its impressive run at the box office, showing a sharp rise in collections on its second day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹36.7 crore on Saturday, taking its total domestic collection to nearly ₹66.7 crore. The war drama has clearly benefited from positive word of mouth and strong audience interest across key markets.

Starring Sunny Deol along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 41.58 percent on Day 2. Night shows proved to be the biggest crowd-puller, registering an occupancy of over 61 percent. Cities and states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai have shown especially encouraging response.

Trade experts are optimistic about the film’s extended weekend performance. With the Republic Day holiday adding momentum, Border 2 is expected to cross major milestones and potentially touch the ₹150 crore mark by Monday.

The makers of Border 2 have released the film’s third song, “Jaate Hue Lamhon,” which brings back the emotional essence of a beloved track from the original Border. The original song, “Ae Jaate Hue Lamhon,” was composed by Anu Malik, sung by Roop Kumar Rathod, and written by Javed Akhtar. It featured Sunil Shetty as Bhairav Singh, bidding an emotional farewell to his newlywed wife before heading to the battlefield.

In Border 2, the makers have retained the same heartfelt lyrics by Javed Akhtar but refreshed the song with a new musical treatment. This time, the track is composed by Mithoon and sung by Vishal Mishra, giving it a modern sound while preserving its emotional depth. Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has stormed the Indian box office, becoming the first film of 2025 to cross ₹200 crore within its opening weekend. Directed by and starring Shetty himself, the film collected an impressive ₹223.25 crore in India during its four-day extended weekend, earning ₹61.85 crore on day one, ₹45.5 crore on day two, ₹55 crore on day three, and ₹61 crore on day four.

With this performance, Kantara Chapter 1 has surpassed major hits like Sankranti Ki Vastunam, Housefull 5, They Call Him OG, and Raid 2, entering the list of the year’s top 10 highest-grossing Indian films. Currently, only five films—Chhava, Saiyara, Coolie, Mahavatar Narasimha, and War 2—stand ahead of it in earnings.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 continues its unstoppable run at the box office, outperforming Varun Dhawan’s romantic drama Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Both films released on October 2, but Shetty’s mythological action saga has clearly taken the lead.

Within just three days, Kantara Chapter 1 has grossed an impressive ₹164.39 crore worldwide, including ₹148 crore from India and ₹18.50 crore overseas. In contrast, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari managed a total of ₹21.70 crore globally, with ₹4 crore coming from overseas markets.

On Saturday, October 4, Kantara Chapter 1 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 29.54%, while Tulsi Kumari trailed slightly at 26.28%. The evening and night shows for Kantara saw the highest audience turnout, touching nearly 50%.

With its strong box office momentum, Kantara Chapter 1 has now become the fourth highest-grossing Kannada film of all time, surpassing major titles like Salman Khan’s Sikandar and Ram Charan’s Game Changer.

It’s safe to say that Rishab Shetty’s cinematic legend is setting new benchmarks for Indian regional cinema.
