Border 2 Opens Big with Rs 30 Crore, Becomes January Hit

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 has made a strong entry at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 30 crore on its opening day. This marks the second biggest January opening in Bollywood, just behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which had collected Rs 57 crore on Day 1. January has historically been a slow month for Bollywood, but films like Padmavaat and Fighter have shown that strong releases can break the trend.

Unlike Pathaan, which rode on SRK’s comeback and fan frenzy, Border 2 benefits from the established popularity of the war franchise and Sunny Deol’s blockbuster momentum from Gadar 2. Its success is driven by strong single-screen collections, pre-release buzz, and mass audience turnout.
